For a typical 14" snare drum, this Maple board is marked out & numbered which is then cut into individual blocks, then mitered at each end & glued back in sequence as they were on the board,
5 rings are stacked & glued for a basic shell, a router is then used on a rail system to machine the shell inside & out, bearing edges, snare beds & the badge recess are machined before finishing.

This 3 piece stave kit requires different size widths & bevels for the staves, once matched for grain & colour they are glued up & clamped into basic shells which are then machined by router on a rail system inside & out, bearing edges & badge recesses are cut before the finishing process.
